The 1st Cafe Show Malaysia 2015 was held from April 23rd to 26th at Putra World Trade Center, Malaysia.
Cafe Show Malaysia 2015 received both domestic and international attention as it is a brand event derived from Asia’s No.1 coffee event, ‘Seoul Int’l Cafe Show’, which is annually held in COEX, Korea every November.
Although it was the first coffee exhibition ever held in Malaysia, we were able to see the rising global interest in the Malaysia coffee market as 20,000 people participated from 12 countries, including Italy, Singapore and Korea.
Various companies participated the show in their booth, from both coffee consuming and producing countries. Coffee consuming countries include Korea and Malaysia whereas the coffee producing countries involved Colombia and Australia.
Apparently, the most important goal of exhibition is ‘business’ and Cafe Show Malaysia was able to function as a satisfying platform for business accomplishments produced among the exhibitors.
Jong-guk Lee is the CEO of ‘Bogner Coffee’, one of the participating exhibitors. ‘Cafe Show Malaysia allowed me to check the potentiality of the market and demands and we have accomplished more than expected. We wish participate again next year.’ said Lee.
Also BARSKOREA, one of the exhibitors have signed the MOU with NAZA GROUP TUTTI FRUTTI, a large local company in Malaysia.
Not just showing its business aspects, Cafe Show Malaysia was also appealing as an entertaining show.
Various seminars were held on-site. An educational program such as ‘Coffee Talk’ provided lectures given by several coffee professionals, whereas ‘GST Talk’ provided information based on new law of additional tax and offered reformation proposal which gathered many cafe owners and business start-up founders on site.
Coffee demonstration held by baristas that represent Asia, called ‘Asia Coffee Stars’ was particularly popular. Jae-hyuk Ahn, the Korean barista champion and Hidenori Izaki, the World Barista Champion of 2014 demonstrated their recipes and attracted tons of visitors.
Cafe Show Malaysia was a great platform to check out the current coffee market trends and business interactions, thanks to the main organizer, EXPORUM KOREA, with the cooperation of the Malaysian local co-organizer, Kaizer Exhibition & Conference sdn bhd.
